Arrived at Tenacatita-on to Barra on the 22nd

We left San Jose del Cabo on the morning of December 18 at 10PM. We have been able to sail most of the day and have been going between 6-7.5 knots. It was a great as we sailed 60-75% of the time. We were delayed leaving SJdC by 2 days as Jim got really bad food poisoning. We decided on Wednesday when we pulled into San Jose del Cabo to celebrate and go to the fancy restaurant by the marina office and have a nice meal. Well, Jim ordered his favorite-a hamburger. Then within an hour he was vomiting and didn't stop for three days. I went to the restaurant and to the marina office and of course complained and they did give us back the money for dinner but Jim was really laid up. He is feeling better and better now and has actually been eating a little.

We have had dolphins around the boat all days long. They come and go. Just a little while ago they were jumping out of the water. I couldn't tell if they were feeding or just feeling frisky, but it was most enjoyable to watch. We haven't seen any whales to speak of. Just a few spouts from some that were far away. In February the Grey whales go to a Bay called Magdalena and calf. But it was too early for us to see them when we went by Bahia Santa Maria on the outside to the Baha.

We hope that all is well is your part of the world and the Christmas rush to not causing you too much anxiety. It has been a little cool here so we still haven't taken off the dodger but we are in shorts and t-shirts most of the time. It has been easier on this voyage because Lucy is here. She is great help with the watches, and she loves my cooking and does the dishes. After sailing all day we just put the motor on as the wind died down to 7 knots and our speed went down to 5 knots. This will be our last long passage until we decide in May whether to go north or south for the hurricane season. Time will tell. Merry Merry Christmas
Linda and Jim
