Heading North from Chamela to PV, Mexico
We are leisurely making our way north to Puerto Vallarta. We are about 105 miles (about 21 hours) south of PV in a bay named Bahia Chamela just in front of a little fishing village named Perula. The city of Chamela is in the same bay but about five miles away on the south end of the Bay. When we came in yesterday the dolphins and the birds greeted us with a lot of activity and noise. We are headed to Puerto Vallarta to haulout the boat and plan to spend a month at the marina in PV taking care of boat chores. It is amazing how fast the critters grow on the bottom of the boat. When we haulout we will prep and paint the bottom and do required maintenance on the prop, bowthruster, check all the thru holes, etc. We are doing this to keep the boat water tight and improve boat speed reducing barnacle growth. We have been enjoying the weather and all the new and old friends we have been with. Mexico is very beautiful and the people are warm and friendly. There have been no issues with security or feeling safe here in Mexico. We plan to be up in the Sea of Cortez during the months of April, May, and June. We are thinking about bringing Liebling back to San Diego in July to restock, and add some items to the boat that we can't get in Mexico.
