Back in Barra de Navidad

We are back in Barra de Navidad after 10+ days in Santiago and Manzanillo. The pictures to the left are ones of turtles hatching in Barra. They are secured in a pin and then released after hatching. The bats are under one of the filappas in town they are big (about 6-8 inches long) and are fruit bats. The leaf cutter ants were very interesting (just like you see on nature shows). The sunset pics were taken in Barra at a hotel on the fifth floor. All the others are friends, kayaking and just hanging out. The fish were swimming by. We did see big sea turtles but they never got close enough for a good shot. On our way back up to Barra we sailed with a big pod of dolphins that swam under our bow for about 30 minutes. As I was sitting on the bow they would race the boat and turn to one side to see me better. It was amazing. There are a lot of whales in the area and sometimes we see them from afar. Even though they are a distance away when they breach out of the water it is amazing. We hope all is well in your part of the world. We love you and miss you all very much.
