Hello All
We are still in San Diego and will be here one more week before we head south to Ensanada for checking into the country and then on the LaPaz. We will move to Chula Vista Yacht Club today and stay there for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. On Tuesday we will return here to the municiapl dock to finish work on some boat projects.
We have been having problems with our charging system. One of the items we want to install is a charger to charge our batteries from 110 power when we are tied up to a dock. At this time we have to run the generator to charge when they get low off of the 220 power. We are also having a new regualator installed for the solar panels which will make them hopefully 25% more efficient. It is a new MPPT regulator. We have also ordered and will install 8 new AGM deep cycle batteries. We had the riggers here make us a 3 point briddle to suspend our dinghy off the spinnaker halyard at night. This a securty measure that all the boaters have here.
Other than all of these projects we have been visiting with other cruisers and leaning a lot of new things. I just got a new camera so I will download some picutres when we get to Chula Vista tonight or tommorrow. It has been cool here so we put our full NW dodger back up and are using the propane heater. We did have about 2 inches of rain about a week and a half ago which I am sure that the locals appreciated. It did give the boat a nice fresh water bath.
Nest week we will rent a car and do the car chores such as Costco, Harbor Freight, and I will get to go to the Zoo. I am so excitied. I hear it is one of the best in the world. I was sick over the Thanksgiving holiday and now Jim and a little cold but we are on the mend and all is well in San Diego. We love you all and miss you. Linda and Jim
