November 23, 2010

We are still in San Diego but plan to leave around the lst of December for Mexico. We have been getting the boat ready with more equipment and supplies. It has been cool here (but not as cold as the NW) with 2 inches of rail last weekend. We are currently moored at the police dock on Shelter Island but will go to LaPlaya Harbor and anchor on Thursday for 3 days before coming back here for the remainder of our stay in San Diego.

We are thinking about the watermaker membranes and will possibly replace them. We think that a flopper stopper with help when we are at anchorage to keep the boat from swaying from side to side. Dinghy wheels are also on the list so than when we go to shore and have to beach the boat we can drag it up easier. We will go next week to the Mexican consulate to get our fishing licenses so that we can fish on the way down. There are so many things to do. As I have said before this is a working vacation.

I am proud of Jim with the way he handling his new vocation. He is working with equipment and electronics that are pretty foreign to him. I have always said this is on the job training.

We have met many interesting people and have heard all kinds of stories. Of course the greatest thing about cruising is the people and all the help and advise they willing to give.

We miss you all very much and hope all is well in your part of the world. Until next time..... Love to you all
