Morro Bay to Santa Cruz Island

We just left Morro Bay and are headed to Santa Barbara or to Santa Cruz Island in the Channel Islands. It is about 120 miles so we will be doing a night crossing. We enjoyed Morro Bay and tied up at the yacht club so we used their facilities and enjoyed walking to town, doing some hiking and just talking to the locals. It has been cloudy and even a little rain here but not cold lows in the high 50's and highs around 65. We are out at sea right now about 16 miles off shore. Our friends Chuck and Jan are with us so it is easier for a night crossing. Jan and I are fishing so we hope to post some pictures the fish we catch :) This will be our last night crossing until we leave San Diego and head for Mexico sometime in November. Things are going well with a few problems but we will work them out and plan to fix them in San Diego. Jim is doing well with this new vocation but sailing is a working vacation. We have had no problems with sea sickness so hopefully we have our sea legs now. As darkness sets and the seas are following 15 second swells it is very pleasant. Liebling is big enough that all of us can do our own thing and not get in each other’s way. Jim has even started to go through cabinets and drawers to organize and see what is in them-very interesting. We are looking forward to some warmer and clearer weather, hopefully this will very soon. I will post some pictures of Morro Bay on the blog when we have internet again.
